In preperation for Little Tin Box's show on January 7th (there's a ticket on littletinbox.com if you'd like to go...) Me and Kelly have been back into the root of practice. Twice as hard with a little one I would say. Hailey is DEFINATELY a third practice member...

So, It's been a damn long while. Can't say why, just cuz.
Our remixing schedual is now at a grinding halt in order to begin production on a new live electronica band (it's very hush hush, top secret, about the most I can say about it is it's a combination of synthpop and electro-punk... Very COOL stuff indeed.)
Born 12/4/03, Our little baby girl, Hailey Rose Sadler, weighs in at 8 pounds 8 ounces. She's keeping the ranch WAY awake, and she's lucky she's very cute... ;)
Off to work.

|In.Flect mix goes to print!
Hot damn! WTII bought our remix and crammed it between some other cool acts. Let's hope that it helps us get more work with them... Here's a copy of the email I got tonight (with the song of importance *-*'d :) ).
Thanks again! I (we) appreciate your talents, ideas, and efforts on your remixes.
The remix disc will be coming out in November. WTII will be putting it out. We've submitted the disc for mastering and it should go to press within the next week or two.
The disc is titled "...but the girl's the same" and we are extremely happy with the disc. Trigger10d has remixed four of our tracks* in addition to your mixes and we've included one new song as well. Perhaps we should've added more new stuff, but we're saving the best for the next album, assuming things remain constant.
The tracklisting is as follows:
play nice (the new trigger10d song)
dirty water (sister machine gun mix)
most people don't forget (undertone)*
*-*babyteen (in.flect mix)*-*
most people don't forget (terminalbliss mix)
babyteen (monstrum sepsis mix)
elaine (hungry lucy mix)
you complicate things (look the other way)*
The sequence of songs is by no means an indication of who we like best or are trying to position. It was assembled to create a mood and flow, as any good album should be.
I appreciate your unique interpretations and ideas. I think you'll be happy to hear one another's ideas as well as our new versions. I believe the album flows very well. It begins with a very electronic club feel, but the latter tracks ease the disc into a groovy, moody end.
I've attached a copy of the cover if you want to post any information on your sites... promote your remixing talents (and why not plug trigger10d ; ) I hope you are proud of your mixes, you should be!
Anyway, George and I owe you remixes now, so let us know if/when we can return the favor. I'll be mailing each of you a couple copies of the finished disc once WTII has it back from press. I think you'll like the artwork too.
Anyway, I am too tired to focus on my grammar and I am done babbling. Thanks again and keep in touch!

|clear my throat
I haven't done much but dig through the archives of my old programs are replay the DOOM series. I've realized that the games I like the best are the games that either A) take me back to the first time I played DOOM. (I remember waking my parents up I was screaming "holy SHIT" so loud). B) Is related in any way to Star Craft. C) I like a game with attitude (like Grand Theft Auto)
So why play DOOM again? Well I'm trying out this program for OSX called Doom Legacy, wich boasts it self as upgrading the graphics to the game. They were right, and you can Jump too! You could never do that before! Instantly I found myself replaying the game. It's not everyday that someone SUCCESFULLY recreates the experiance of the first AND improving it at the same time. You only need to watch Episode 2 to know that ;p

|New remix project
Well, as of last night we finished 3 remixes of "accidents waiting to happen" by 12Rods. I'm really confident that they will be put on a single/ep (wichever you happen to call it). Perhaps even Along with a remix someone did of "boy in the woods". 12Rods has yet to hear it, infact only 4 people have heard the mixes since their inception.
If that wasn't enouph work, we've accepted the job of remixing a band from the WTII record label (wax trax II) called "Baby Teen" by Trigger10d. Me and Jonathans work seemed to put quite the impression on Martin of Attrition I suppose hu?
I'm looking for an upright bass player too, to try some interesting Jazz concepts.

We finished all of the 12Rods remixes as of yesterday. Three of them now in the final tracking phase of production. Of the song "Accidents Waiting to Happen" they are each equally entertaining and unique from the original.
What will happen with them when there finished is anybody's guess, I'm hopeing that I'll be given the opprotunity to work with 12Rods guys on producing a single with them, including the remixes and maby a live version or an acoustic version. I haven't pitched any ideas to them yet, I wanted to sell them on the remixes first before I went and asked them about it. You know, really show them that I am capable of producing quality work that their fans will enjoy and purchase.
and that statement will make you think I've gone corporate. But really I haven't; I've just decided that there is no point in making something that no one is going to appreciate. Purchasing something is part of showing that appreciation for something. For instance, if I like a movie, I go out and buy it. Or, if I like coke, I go out and buy it. That's how I see appreciation.
Because I can tell people I like something untill I'm blue in the face, but there is no real appreciation for it unless I ligitimately own it.
We're in a day and age where music can be downloaded for free, legally or otherwise, and so that dollar is really more about showing appreciation for the music rather then buying it because you have no choice to. Sure, I may not be the hottest search item on the newest napster equivilent but this is just how I see things.
This is how I have to see things, this is how the music world will have to see things, it makes me appreciate my fans more.

yea, I've been a little busy.
I'm also a little flustered. I just guest dj'd at the Saloon wich I failed to make mention in this journal so I won't hold anyone accountable for not showing up. However, it wasn't very fun to play for free for all of seven people. We were giving away some freebie drinks to anyone who came in the door too and that didn't even work.
I must be in the wrong scene or something because I know it's not my DJ skill that is called into question here. [Unless the people who tell me I'm good just say that because they can't be honest for fear I might not like them. ] Unless spinning nothing between 1995 and 2000 constitutes being a bad DJ.
I don't know I just thought that enouph people were Killed on Covenant and VnV Nation that they would like to hear something different. Something more in line with current events maby? I guess not, because they would've been out tonight if they did.
Eh, and what really frightens me is that Electro-Tank next Sunday is going to flop and I'm going to be asking myself why I'm bothering doing that.
I'm trying to give local electronic musicians the opprotunity to get their music spun. I religiously spin this music for anyone there, and yet I never see a single artists from town that I spin. Where's the love? I give love, but I get no love in return. It's at the point now where I'm just going to say "Fuck 'em" throw their CD in the trash if I don't like it, and just move on to better things.
And now people are going to wonder why I never said anything about this before.
I suppose maby it's because I think it's rude. and I happen to be just tired enouph not to stop myself from opening my mouth. I think that is the most justifyable reason for keeping my lips sealed.
This is a public forum as well, and I feel it's disrespectfull for anyone trying to service a group of people to Bash them to their face. Sure, vent your frustrations all you like when your alone in your bed room or something but you should never tell anyone else that you don't like them, or any other negative comment.
That may be the reason why no one comes out to my events. I'm too damn professional. Perhaps I should try being rude to everyone, people call that "charector" right?
EH, I'm blue in the face now so I'll shut up about it.

I started the 12Rods remix: Accidents waiting to happen
Nothing noteable thus far, I've been extracting the vox and trying to place it into differing meters to see if I can do something other then 4/4 (sometimes if the rythim is right in the lyrics you can do 7/4 or 3/4)
That's about it today.

2 things got done tonight:
1) The attrition mix is finally complete, including the obligatory Julia vox that is evident in every attrition song regardless of weather it's nessicary or not. No foul intended to the nice folks of Attrition, I found their songs to be very refreshing and original and a fun listen; I just thought the song I remixed could've went with or without Julia and I tend to be a minimalist. Oh well, not this time.
2) Me and Jonathan Ford have officially teamed up in the remix department for now; maby some original songs on the way... We are going by the name "In.Flect"
Our economy is plummeting dammit! BUY SOMETHING ALREADY! ;)
I've taken a break from writing, wich is why nothing has been posted here in a while. I'm now an official catalog merchant for Latex Records. You can buy any ebm/club hit from them... trust me on that one. I'll give you a catalog if you want it.
Or you could stop by electro-tank Sunday night and check it out yourself. Maby even listen to some tracks off of the latex compilation "Electro Age I"
But do SOMETHING....

|wrapping up Action Music
We'll be wrapping up the studio sessions for Action Music for the next couple of months. It'll be nice to be done with this album. I certainly spent a lot more time with production and quality on this one then Object~Subject, and I'm sure it shows at least a little.
I think we'll have a little "final cut" party for friends, family, and hardcore fans. Could be fun, and it would give everyone a chance to hear the album in it's entirety, wich as my dad says "is quite the voyage."
There are at least three songs on the album that we don't perform. Just in case you thought you've heard it all.
I've also done a little cover of "stinkfist" by Tool, it's really interesting to hear it my way, I don't improve on it at all, I just make it different.

It's official now that I am doing a remix for Attrition. The song is called "Dante's Kitchen". It will more then likely be included in their single. I was apparently hand picked but they did not say how many artists they chose from. It was neat to get the package from them, I got a hand written letter from martin. Made me feel nice and special.

|It's booking time
I'm going to try to set up another Little Tin Box show sometime mid april, With Dissociate and Love Association/Envy Is blind (I haven't decided wich yet, I'll get to that as soon as details are fleshed out). It's going to be another 18+ event, for sure. So start telling your friends about it.

So I've been the 'leader' of this yahoogroup called TCEMC wich is short for Twin Cities Electronic Music community or something like that, I don't really care. Those of you in the community probably don't either ;) Anyway, The previous 'leader', Alex, recently called Billy Fisk of Indoctri-Nation a Neo-Nazi... Isn't that just hilarious? He has threatened to protest Electro-Tank! If he's actually out there protesting, I would like someone to interview him out there and video tape what he has to say, adding little embaressing remarks here and there about his girlish figure, the more we embaress him, the more he will protest. Then Electro-Tank would get some free press ! :)

Today I'm feeling pretty cool, less pissy then yesterday.
I did a club version of the new tune wich officially debuted yesterday:
The club version is more/less the same only it's a longer more rythmic orientated arrangement and the lyrics are cut so that they emphasize the main point of the song. (it's the first verse repeted a few times and the refrain tacked on at the end.)
I'm feeling really good about this song; expect to hear more along it's style. Current Mood: accomplished

I'm glad you believe in fighting for your right to world peace. Perhaps maby you can find an alternative way to voice your opinion other then sending me spam mail and telling me about things I already know. Oh, and I have no controll over the war, so getting in my way on the road and making me pay attention to you probably isn't going to accomplish anything.
Here listen to this, It'll help you realize a couple of things.http://www.littletinbox.com/secret/HumAn(internet.edit).mp3 Current Mood: aggravated
